Reliant Scimitar SS1. 1600cc. 1986. 75,000 miles.

My  white SS1 is in good condition and looks good. It is no 896 with a galvanised chassis and single wiper. It has electric mirrors, rollover bar, hard top with sunroof and heated window, soft top and tonneau cover.

 In the three years in my care it has received a new radiator, new door window frames and five new tyres. It has a stainless steel exhaust. The MOT is valid until 30 November 2009 and Tax to 31 October 2009.

You may have seen it in Slice, I made a modification to the driver’s seat and chassis to lower the seat and make more headroom, so it is now good for a 6' 2" driver.

2.5ltr V6 Essex Coupe SE4c

2^nd car made in 1968, one of only 118 original cars made as 2.5ltr.

First registered April 1968, body colour old English white

Rebuilt between 1992 and 1997, mileage at 1997 MOT 6 miles

Body off mechanical restoration, when a new SE5 chassis was adapted and fitted to the car, all new brakes, with stainless hoses and drums etc. New stainless steel tank, new suspension, shocks, springs and bushes, full engine rebuild balanced and runs beautifully to this day, at tick over there is no vibration!  Straight through exhausts give the car a wonderful if noisy tone. Converted to take one 12volt battery. Lockable fuel filler cap.

Originally changed to a Borg Warner automatic gearbox during the restoration, but changed to current set up of a SE6a 3 rail gearbox with overdrive when I bought it, but I also have the original 2 rail gearbox which will be sold with the car.

I bought the car in November 2003 and in the last 12 years the car has only done 840 miles.

During the time I’ve had the car the centre dashboard has been customised with a keyless push button starter ignition system with immobiliser. I’ve bought and fitted Jaguar Mk10 courtesy lights and made a start on preparing the body for the respray the car needs.
